New to the Church

Every 4th Sunday of the Month at 4:00PM we hold a special baptism service. This is a special service for all of those who have made a decision for Jesus Christ and for their family and friends to share in this memorable moment of their baptism. As Baptist, we believe in following the example in Christ, and as such, we honor this ordinance of our faith and practice every month. It is such an exciting time and we hope you’ll join us in the celebration.

The 4th Sunday of every Month, during our Communion Service at 4:00PM, we recognize every new member of our church family. This is a special part of the service, acknowledging a very special moment: the moment when a persons’ membership is made official through the Right Hand Of Fellowship. During this occasion, every new member of our church is greeted by the official board of the church and the pastor, through a ceremonial handshake, which we call the “right hand of fellowship.” And after this handshake is extended, it’s official! We are praising God for each and every new member to our church family.

Once you have joined the church, we feel that it is important to share in a few preliminary classes in order to inform you of foundational beliefs related to the Christian faith, which our church promotes and practices. These classes are prerequisites to official membership. To this end, we encourage every new member to share in classes that are held every Sunday at 8:30AM.

In the Baptist Church there are two ordinances of the faith that we adhere to monthly; and they are: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper or often referred to as, Holy Communion. Baptism is the ceremonial expression of a newly devoted individual to the Christian faith by way of brief water submersion. This act demonstrates the believer’s initial openly public expression of their confession of faith as well as the Heavenly Father’s delight and confirmation of that believers’ acknowledgement as a follower of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:13-17; Luke 3:21-22) Holy Communion on the other hand, is a ceremonial expression, which commemorates the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the sharing in the eating of the bread and the drinking from the cup, just as His disciples did (Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:14-22; and I Corinthians 11:23-26. Both Baptism and Holy Communion are observed every month as a church family. We welcome you to take part in these regular celebrations of our faith.
